why is being a neet/femcel/4channer so romanticized now

half the people ive seen calling themselves a neet or having 4chan themed everything are like 14 you arent expected to have a job at that point in your life and half of them havent even touched the actual website. i dont have a problem with stuff like that being used for aesthetics usually like people idolizing 2007 myspace stuff without actually experiencing it its a nice era to look at but 4chan doesnt really have anything to idolize, if you actually logged on for a day its full of all the -obics and -isms you could possibly imagine and is majorly just a bunch of grown white guys. idk, its not a big deal, its just sort of annoying to me. neet being misused doesnt bug me as much as hikikomori, half the people calling themselves a hikikomori actively go out and have friends, it doesnt make any sense. i just wish people would let themself be a little lonely without calling themself a femcel neet chan lover hikikomori, it makes me cringe and waters down the reality of everything
