I will admit, when I first got into Alien Stage I was super deep into Ivantill. I relate to Ivan on a painful level and that led to me shipping Ivan and Till as a coping mechanism. But the more I got over the fear and shock, the more I realised that this ship (in a reciprocating way) sucks ASS. The whole point of their relationship is that Ivan's feelings are one-sided and will never be reciprocated by Till.
Not to mention, Ivan is in a place where he could not move on if he tried. He can't exactly meet new people or distance himself from Till in a way that would help (If I hadn't blocked my exes I wouldn't have been able to move on, and many other people are like me)
I'd imagine that if all of the ALNST characters were in the modern world, Ivan might have some unhealthy co-dependent crush on Till, maybe in school or as a young adult. Still, since he'd have access to, like, I don't know, THERAPY and more freedom than he has in the ALNST universe, at some point, he would be able to move on and maybe even get into a relationship with another man or just be content with the company of someone else in a non-romantic context.
Like, I don't know, maybe I'm crazy and autistic me is missing something, but it is VERY EXPLICIT that Till DOESN'T like Ivan at all in a romantic context. Maybe as a friend, but definitely not as a potential love interest. He's always had eyes for Mizi and Mizi always, in the same co-dependent, obsessive way that Ivan likes Till.
AND ALSO can I bring up the fact that most of the fandom doesn't seem to like or express interest in MiziTill??? They're literally in the exact same situation as Ivan and Till, but without Mizi telling Till "GO KYS" every five seconds. The only difference is that Mizi WAS in a relationship, but I feel like if Till was taken or previously taken, that wouldn't stop people. So like it's just so gross and weird.
Also, like, do if it's just me, but has everyone suddenly forgotten that "Yaoi" and "Yuri" used to mean MLM and WLW content that is fetishising??? I thought that everyone was using the terms as a joke (and I'm sure some people are) but some people are actually using it SERIOUSLY and it makes me tweak out. HOW THE FUCK am I supposed to know the difference between someone who is joking, someone who is saying it and means it in a fetish way and someone who is saying it but is unaware of what it means?? Like I'm genuinely confused is this my punishment for not being an active participant in fandoms and internet culture that isn't memes and art???
