boring validation seeking men (RANT)

There are so many 'sub-genres' of these types of men but in my experience the guy i was talking to was a "book" boy. You might wonder what that is and this is the type of men that are obsessed with philosophy and classic literature. They are obsessed with the smiths, the beatles, etc...any other artist that makes them seem different from your average male. The only movies they say they love is 500 days of summer, eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, la la land, american psycho, literally any other "movie buff" film. They fantasize the whole manic pixie dream girl trope (red flag to begin with). They make it seem like they are super interested in everything that you like but really only want you to think they're different from sleazy men by not hitting on you directly. PLEASEEE TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS DEALT WITH THESE TYPES OF MEN
