Lucid dreaming: experiences and tips

I think the title is self-explanatory, but I'd really like to know your experiences with this kind of stuff and how to do it.

I remember being able to "mini lucid dream" for LESS than a second, when I realized I was dreaming and got so surprised that I woke up (got a bit angry when I did so :(...)

Do you have some tips to do this?

I've tried having a dream journal (I have ADHD so it didn't work...), making reality checks and even subliminals, but with no results...

Plz help me on this :(

I had a phase where I wanted to lucid dream really bad, and most people just say to do this thing where you wake up in the middle of the night, stay up for a bit, then go to sleep again? It has to do something with the REM cycle and messing with it.

It's called wake-initiated lucid dreaming (WILD), and I think it worked for me? I knew it was a dream, but I was only able to slightly control small things, and then I woke up when I tried shifting the plot of the dream.
