anyone got any advice?

I live in italy and am alterntive. I have strong passion  for music and would love to be surrounded by it and make it my life long hobby. So my question is how do you insert yourself in a scene? What if there is no local scene ? is there anyway to build a local scene? i was thinking of making cute zines and stick them around town and wait and see the reaction to them. I love the idea of a big community of freaks and geeks uniting and supporting each other without judgement. Maybe i should throw the first stone and reach out.So does any hardcore/punk/goth/emo/alt person in a local scene have tips to give me?
