Hello! I haven't been on here on a while. I really do want to get into posting here more, but I still need to get used to it and remember that this exists lmao. I think a good way for me to be a little more active is by posing some art I made. I want to talk about a character that I've own for a while now but haven't shared much with anyone!

This is my OC Lina! I made her in 2018 but I don't draw her enough.

Bandage over her eye recently after revival

When I created her, I wanted her to be like a doll-like character. She used to be a living person but died from being beheaded. Someone found her and stitched her head and neck together with a special scarf that cannot be removed or else Lina's head falls off. One of her eyes were also damaged badly, so it got replaced with a button eye.

She doesn't really have much memories of her past life, but she dedicates her new life to gaurding the shrine of the one who brought her back to life.

Lina wears a kimono-inspired romper. I got the inspiration for her design from different sources: 

• The Other Mother from Coraline
• Ramlethal Valentine's design from Guilty Gear
• Kikyo from Inuyasha
• Vivian from The Wolf Among Us.

Lina's scarf protects and assists her in combat. She can also use her scarf to grapple things, thus allowing her to swing. However, she doesn't find herself in combat too often. She occasionally works with her scarf to perform everyday activities like cleaning the temple and offering guests tea. Her scarf makes multitasking easier

I say her scarf is special because not only does it keep her head from falling off, her scarf has a personality of its own! She can sort of control it, only because her scarf and her have been connected for so long that they are in perfect sync most of the time. Sometimes her scarf will behave silly/charismatic around Lina. She sometimes wonders if her scarf is controlled by the consciousness of a once living person, but her scarf and her love each other a lot.

The year gaps between these drawings goes to show how little I draw her (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

In the 2018 drawing, there are threaded needles shooting out from inside her sleeve. A concept that I had was - as a last resort - that Lina could shoot these needles out, but the longer the thread extended, the less thread her scarf had. If she were to continue to keep extending it, the threads in her scarf would run and and ultimately, make the seams on her neck loosen. Since it is such a risky move, she doesn't find herself in enough danger to use this.
