I have skirts, bodysuits and so many cool stuff i wanna wear but local gender norms said no. People are chill here but i have no idea how they would react to dudes dressing fem so I'd rather get to know people first and see if it's safe to do so.
"But Gavin who cares about gender norms if people are chill" i personally don't but there are always a few idiots in the crowd and i don't wanna put myself in danger. It's just sad that i have to stay undercover to be safe.
I'm frustrated about having to wear basic outfits all the time. Not that i hate these fits, i like all my clothes, i wouldn't be keeping them in my closet otherwise but being forced to wear them all the time even when i have the opportunity to wear something pretty kinda sucks.
The only thing that isn't gender coded here is hairstyles, at least that's a start, i get to grow my hair out, cuz trust me I'm ugly with short hair.

If you have any gender nonconforming friends, or even just anybody who's supportive of you, I recommend walking around with them when you wanna dress up. Walking with people who support you makes rude passerby less brave from what I've found. Good luck dude(gn), I believe in you!

i hope one day the world will be kind to us who wish to dress how we want <3 until then, have you considered maybe dressing up for yourself? you deserve to dress in the clothes you enjoy wearing!i understand the feeling of wanting to go outside in an outfit you love and show it off, but people are cruel to what they don't understand. its a shame you cant wear them out, but its better than nothing

I did consider that, but unfortunately i just moved in and haven't met any queer or gender non conforming people yet so i still can't tell what people would think of it.

Honestly, id start small like going to a store in a skirt, I promise you not as many people will care unless you live in a very dangerous area/country, and even then people will still hate, seems like all humans are filled with it from one way or another, but honestly just try n get outta your comfort zone for now, im sure you’ll rock a skirt in public! Also if you scared of people jumping or hurting you, carry a pocket knife (within legal range) or pepper spray! Another alternative to that if you ain’t tryna get as violent is going out with a group of people, someone who will fight for you, or a guard dog. Or last but not least, act crazy, like you should be in a institution Lmaoo, but after all, be safe and be yourself! Don’t let other peoples opinions discourage you, It’s 2024 ;D
