IM BACK!! LIFE UPDATE & OCS INTRODUCTION *__*

HELLO EVERYONEEE I havent been posting here for a long time now (though, I've never really posted anything in the first place!!) and im very excited to use this blog entry because I've quit all of my social media because i got TIREDD of the constant propaganda they were pushing in my fyp page, reels page, etc. Plus it was soo outraging so i said YK WHAT!! I QUIT THIS BS! it didn't make me happy at all but now after being like three months without any social media at all, I haven't felt any more at peace and willing to start blogging because fuck conventional ways to showing off your art online! 

I've been writing a lot about some OCs (Original Characters) I've got, and I've been wanting to build a small platform to show my little doodles and stuff, perhaps become a niche microcelebrity or some shit, in the most unconventional way ever. And, since my OC's lore is (mostly) settled in the late 2000s, I thought of posting all of my OCs content here to give off that early MySpace vibe to it. So, without further ado, I'll proceed to talk more about my OCs anddd yeah I hope someone reads it and likes it because I've been working on it for months :3

OCs Timeline 

So, to start with this (which I'm very excited about ahjdhjfdk) the story settles in Canada, 2007-2008? (I haven't decided it yet) There are three main protagonists: Matthew, Stephanie and Jason. The lore itself is nothing too complex, just three friends tired of the expectations their parents put upon their shoulders, so they ran away to Toronto to become a famous rock (metal?) band, living together and working on 9 to 5, minimum wage jobs while navigating through life as new young adults, leaving their teen youth behind.

Anyway! Here are the protagonists! I'll make sure to leave pictures as a reference x)

Let's start with the first, main protagonist of them all: Matthew Xū (or Xu, doesn't really matter)

A half-Canadian half-Chinese 19-year-old born in 1989/1988! His birthday is in early February, making him an Aquarius! Matthew is a really caring yet closed-off young man. He might seem quite serious at first, but once you get to know him, you realize he can be quite sensitive in his own way. He gets irritated by things easily, but he's also quick to apologize when he notices he's overreacting. Since I don't want to reveal too much about this dude already (because he's the main character of the story overall), I won't say much from his backstory yet. All I'll tell you guys for now is that he's not half-white or anything, as he's completely Chinese, but he was born in Canada due to his parents moving for a better job opportunity there.  

Some facts about Matthew!

* He likes Nu Metal, and his favorite band is Korn (he owns some merch from them, and he's always wearing a shirt with their logo) 

* Regarding his appearance, he has short black hair, piercings on his ears, eyebrow, and lips (snake bites), and he always wears black nail polish, and baggy clothes (see reference here). He's around 5'5ft and built like an average 19-year-old dude who just started college.

* Before he ran away from home, he was studying marketing and absolutely hated every second of it. (By the way, that's where he met Stephanie) 

* He has a younger sister. Her name is Lia. 

* Jason and him have known each other since middle school. 

 * He enjoys painting 

* He can play both drums and electric guitar (enjoying more the latter) 

* He is bisexual and shows his exploration with it throughout the lore

Stephanie Eleine 

AKA Steph, a cheerful young woman. She's laid back and down to Earth, mostly helping Matthew with whatever problem he might be facing, showing her caring and nurturing nature to whoever might need it. Stephanie is deeply perceptive about people's needs, and can also be very intuitive about what might be going on around her. She's reliable and tries to be as responsible as much as a 19-year-old can be.

Some facts about Steph! 

* To drop the bomb already (or not, really), Stephanie is a trans woman, which defines a lot of aspects of her character and personality. She's also pansexual, but that's on a side note, really. 

* She comes from an Orthodox Jewish family, however, she's not a believer and doesn't hang along with her family at all due to her sexual and gender identity. 

* Physically, she's a redhead with freckles on her cheeks. There's a smile always tugging at her pink-painted lips, and she's always wearing light makeup around her cheeks and green eyes. Her hair is always tied up in a bun or loose and long with blonde highlights (she often wears this look on stage). She's around 5'7ft tall and is always wearing trendy things (see references here and here)

* She listens to LOTS of music. She likes what's trending, what's not trending, etcetera. She mostly likes rock. Most of her favorite bands are from the late 80s to early-mid 90s, such as REM, The Cranberries, and Peter Murphy. 

* She works at a 50s themed restaurant (ironic, i know)

Jason

Jason is a Scottish dude who moved to Canada with her mother and her older sister when he was a kid (around the late 90s) He's a laid-back dude who's often the comedic relief in every situation. He met Matthew when they were thirteen and they're quite close, best friends, even. He's also a metalhead, just like Matthew, except that he listens to black metal. Though I haven't finished his character yet, the intent of Jason was to make him purposefully a black metal fan because I thought it'd be funny that he was best friends with a nu-metal fan (since black metal fans absolutely despise nu-metal fans, for some reason.) Matthew and him spend most of the time together, hanging out at places, and even going to pick up each other from work!! They're simply that close, really. He's still a character in process so I don't have many drawings of him and he doesn't have a last name either. x(

Some facts about Jason! 

* He got into Metal and Black Metal at fifteen (same thing with Matthew), being a Black Metal fan the most.

* Though I haven't specified his favorite bands yet, I've specified his favorite Black Metal subgenres, which are: DSBM, Industrial Black Metal, Blackened Death Metal, etc... I'm still doing my research on the genre and the subgenres, so I'm not sure if these particular genres I've named will be definitive as his favorites! 

* He loves cats and dogs a lot.

* Unlike other black metal fans, he's actually pretty chill and friendly. Honestly, he's only there for the music and the art, as he doesn't seem to engage with a lot of black metal fans because he considers them a bunch of edgelords (though, he knows there are people like him out there as well, and that not every single black metal fan is like that!), that's why he decides to hang out with metalheads from the other bunch instead.

* He's 6'0 ft, being the tallest one of the trio. His hair is blond and long, which always looks gorgeous cuz he doesn't take a bath for like three days and that makes his hair oily enough to be hydrated and shiny once he washes it. He only wears Corpse Paint when he's on stage or when he feels extra. Otherwise, he doesn't wear any makeup at all, but a lot of band tees and cameo pants with them big black combat boots and bullet belts!!

 And that's it, really, he doesn't carry many things honestly lmao. He doesn't even carry a lighter cuz Matthew always has one.

Anyway!! That'd be pretty much it! I'm really eager to see what you guys think of my ocs and my lore :D I haven't told you everything yet, but I will depending on how well this post does! I'm really exhausted rn because explaining all of my ocs lore is EXHAUSTINGG. By the way, as a side note, if you notice some stereotypes or whatever (which I hope not!) I just want you to guys know that it was ENTIRELY coincidental. I just wanted to make the typical 2000s main cast trio, a brunette, a redhead, and a blond/e. My main inspiration for their designs was the Totally Spies! along with other iconic trios that don't come to my mind right now. Please make sure to correct me on anything and if you're a black metal fan I'm open to recommendations, as it'll help with my research for Jason :) anyway!! That'd be all for now!
