Batman: The Long Halloween animated movie

When I first watched this, I was not super impressed, but upon rewatch, I actually quite like it! The animation is decent in the slower scenes and quite good in some of the more action-oriented sequences. While some of the dialogue is slower paced than most DC animated projects, I found it to be entertaining and the voice cast is superb. I really enjoyed Jensen Ackles' take on Batman and Bruce Wayne, and Josh Duhamel plays a good Harvey Dent. There's a lot of expressiveness in both performances, even when they play things close to the vest. Capturing the stoicism of a character like Batman is a challenging thing, and Ackles acquits himself very well in the role. While I don't much care for the thick black outlines of this particular iteration of the DC animated universe, I credit the artists and animators for doing great work, as usual. It may not be perfect, but The Long Halloween is a classic story and well worth a watch.
