finishing my books - they both die in the end

this does have spoilers so be warned.

i give this book a 5/10 not being it wasn't good it was a very easy read in fact, however i feel it didn't grip my attention like it could have. some things that bothered me was the sudden derailing of the story to talk/ give insight into a random person's life. it felt distracting and almost like a door being slammed in my face when i was getting super in the groove of reading. another thing is that they didn't both die at the end? one of the two main characters had details surrounding their death (which was also extremely sudden and felt rushed) yet the other character did not.

the ending of the book felt like a cliffhanger due to this and drastically redirected the preset intentions of what the book was supposed to be. however, thinking more on it i realize there may have been some truth to the title. i believe the second main character, having been so in the love with the one who dies, ends up dying on the inside due to the loss rather than physically dying. and it is often said that losing someone you love the most can be worse than death itself.

if you ever read the book what were some opinions you had on it?
