Less than 2 weeks from now...

I can't believe it, but in less than 2 weeks, I will finally be starting college. :)

My mother and I decided to take a little tour of the campus of the place I'll be doing my first 2 years or so at (a local community college, where I will eventually transfer to a 4 year university once I have enough credits to do so), as well as to straighten out an issue I had with my records and registration.

Honestly, the thing that really made me finally feel like an adult (my 18th birthday was on August 3rd of this year) was being able to sign off on my own paperwork and being asked by one of the staff members if I consent to allow my mother to see my school records.

I still have to clean out my backpack from my senior year of high school and see exactly what I'll need once school starts on 8/26/2024. Obviously, I know that I'll need shit like notebooks, pens, pencils (for the art classes I'll be taking) and my laptop (unfortunately, 2 out of my 5 classes this semester are online, so I'll have to endure that hell all over again like I did in 2020). Maybe I'll just do the online classes in the library or something, I don't know. I just know that it's a lot harder for me to focus at home where the temptations to do literally anything but what I'm supposed to be doing are there. And hopefully I'll be able to register for next semester's courses early enough and that there are enough professors all willing to do the lectures in person.

But other than that, I'm already prepared for the first day. I have the basic supplies I need, plus I've already memorized all of the city bus routes to and from the school and know of all the stores around there and along the way and shit. 

In addition, I will have to stop by my alma mater and pick up my transcripts and shit from the high school I just graduated from on August 19th when my friends who are still in high school have to go back (I was supposed to get them from the main office on June 7th, but unfortunately, I caught a cold from the Grad Nite field trip the week prior and didn't really feel like going down there on that day).

Also, editing this blog and typing this out just reminded me of the fact that I have to download this song onto my MP3 player.
