The Borderlands Movie (Spoilers for the movie ahead :3)

Borderlands has always been one of my favorite games, and even though I saw the horrible reviews of the movie saying it was one of the worst video game movies I still went into it with an open mind because I love the games and didn't want it to suck. I just finished watching it, and all I have to say is why? I knew that the lore of the movies and games were going to be very different, but I never expected it to be as bad as it was. So here's some of the worst lore changes in the movie:

Tiny Tina is the daughter of Atlas and was made with Eridian blood to open the vault??

There's not a SINGLE FUCKING MENTION OF HANDSOME JACK, DESPITE HYPERION SHIT BEING EVERYWHERE

Lillith and Tannis are like 50 years older than they're supposed to be

Claptrap was programmed by Lillith's mom to help her figure out she's the firehawk? (Which makes no sense, and Claptrap is also made by Hyperion and there's not a single mention of Handsome Jack)

Moxxie knew Lillith's mom? Despite both Moxxie and Lillith being old as shit in the movie

Mouthpiece is just working with Atlas for some reason, no idea why a boss who works with Troy and Tyreen is just casually with Atlas. Krieg beats his ass anyway though, and that's why Krieg is the best

And I think that's enough about shitty retcons for now, there's still plenty of other horrible choices that we're made with how the movie plays out. And the biggest fuck up to me is the fact that the entire movie builds up to Tina being the key to the vault, with like 2 very small mentions about the firehawk before hand, and not a single mention about sirens; and within the last 15 minutes of the movie they just destroy everything they built up.

 They reveal that Tina isn't actually the key to the vault despite being made from Eridian blood, they bring up sirens for the first time in the entire movie only AFTER Lillith becomes the firehawk, and they already did a shit job of building up the vault but once inside literally the only thing they do is just let Atlas die to the vault, don't loot it, don't get a single fucking thing from the vault besides Lillith learning she's a siren. And since they already fucked it up that bad they might as well have made Tannis a siren too in the movie since in the games she is one, but nope, all of (or lack of) build up to the vault just to kill Atlas and then cut to a celebration at Sanctuary

I really really really wanted this movie to be atleast somewhat okay, but it's just not. I don't think a single dev or writer from Gearbox even touched the script or production and it was left to a bunch of higher ups who watched a 10 minute lore recap on the games and based an entire movie off of that

If you want to watch the movie, go do it, but don't expect it to be good in the slightest, it's not even a "so bad it's good/funny" kind of movie it's just a "so bad you wonder why they even tried" and the movie also broke several records for bombing so bad at the box office and just being shit. 4/10 at best, it sucks, Krieg and Tina on top though they're the best characters
