Nocturnal Transmission

And now it is time for me to speak into the void!

I released a new track to the Salty Moon Arcade BandCamp and Soundcloud today!

This track is a bit of me experimenting. The track began as a techno track and ended something I feel totally different; per usual.

I have been listening to a lot of vaporwave on SoundCloud and it sort of seeped into this track, I think. Not really for the essence of vaporwave; it doesn't have the classic slowed down vocals or horns or anything like that; but I played around with hi-pass filters and stuff like that.

Something about listening to music on SoundCloud has made me realize my tracks don't need to be perfect, and though I have long been trying to fight against perfectionism and lean into anti-perfectionism, I still find myself thinking "these tracks aren't ready for release."

If you listen to only Spotify (bleh) or Apple Music as a music producer, you might start to feel you need to compete with the stuff you hear on there, but if you go listen on SoundCloud you realize you can do whatever you want! At least that's what I am remembering.

Spotify and Apple Music, those aren't the only ways and aren't even the best, in my opinion, in fact I do think SoundCloud, at this point in time, reigns supreme for indie artists and music producers. I realize that now I should have been putting a lot more focus into SoundCloud like I used to when I first started out, but then I got distracted by people on apps like Tiktok only ever talking about other streaming sites.

Once I have some money I plan to pay to be able to upload unlimited tracks to SoundCloud, and hopefully really start pumping stuff out, without trying to be a perfectionist. I don't know if people will listen, but I know a few people do and they listen on SoundCloud.
