Hey SpaceSleepers (66): Swinging Wheels & Night Drinking (cw: alcohol)

Today I went to Coney Island with a friend of an online friend who was visiting New York over a planned trip. I am not a rollercoaster person at all so I sat out on riding the Cyclone with him because I would be dead scared on it, but we rode every ride after that together. We went on a lot of ones where it lifted you in the air and spun you around because I find those so fun. One of my favorite ride still had to be the teacups because spinning teacups are a classic ride that I've loved since I was a kid, when my father used to drive us up to Six Flags. I also liked the one where we were on swinging seats and we were brought really high and spun because the view was beautiful. We ended off the Coney Island trip in a swinging cart on the Ferris wheel, that took us around twice. The first swing on the Ferris wheel was definitely the most intense and scariest because of how hard it swings.

After Coney Island, we took a Q train to go to one of the recommended queer bars in Brooklyn. Honestly it was very lovely but since there was a wide enough food menu, I wouldn't say it was much of a party bar. That didn't mean that the drinks weren't strong those. The first drink that I ordered was so strong that it tasted like burnt tires when I took a sip. See, I'm not much of a drinker, not even drinking at my friend's 21st birthday, so something meant to get you hammered in a cup was nasty for me. So nasty that I had to send it back in favor of something lighter, so thankfully our server was nice enough to let me switch it out for something lighter. Though my friend did tell me that it was absolutely too strong for him too even though he drinks a lot more than me. Our second round was mostly vodka based drinks that had more mild flavors, spent mostly with me listening to him talk about his life. Honestly it was such a lovely experience considering how good my company was (08/12/2024).
