CWC and LoL Cows - WTF

(There's a TL:DR on the bottom ;>)

I originally listed this under, "Movies, TC, Celebrities" because there was nothing more that I can think of that encompasses the absolute behemoth of a topic that covers the CWC and Lol Cow "Lore in general." but I decided to stick with blogging since I am just listing my thoughts and personal opinions.

This is an entry that I will probably take down because I can't be sure if this post will start something or lead to something I don't want.

I few years back I unwittingly happened upon the CWC and was horrified when I realized that I recognized some of the pictures, videos and even Chris himself. Way back when, when the internet was still what it was back then and not brain rot central as it is now, I came upon Chris in the midst of the encyclodramatica debacle and I guess I was horrified to the point where I repressed all memories of my time in that whole space until being reintroduced to it.

I won't lie and say that getting caught up on everything regarding the CWC and even being introduced to the term "Lol cow" was not something I used to pass the time during quarantine, but WTF.

That whole space is such a hellscape for everyone involved. For the "lol cows" themselves who are targets to the fury of the audience, to the audience who spend so much of their time targeting the "lol cows" and even the orbiters of that whole space. It's just such a terrible place to be in all around and I could not imagine dedicating my time to something so...sad.

I don't like any of it and I think that these spaces that were once so insulated have broken out into the mainstream and clout-hungry people have seen that this type of notoriety could lead to fame, they decided to hope on and do it themselves which lead to the degradation of online spaces (i.e: Kick, Twitter). We're so online now that so many people don't realize how insane they are to be apart of that "culture" in the first place.

I hope that the pendulem will swing and tech will take a backseat in our lives so we can reconnect with nature and other people. The internet was made for people to be more connected and feel less lonely, and while the internet had brought about so much good, it ultimately failed in its goal and has not given us what we hoped for, if anything it has taken and will continue to take.

I guess I could open a greater convo about the CWC but I also don't want to all at once. And if you have no idea what any of what I wrote means, keep it that way, you are better off.

TL:DR - The CWC and "LoL Cow" scene is nothing but a sad place for sad people and now the internet is infected with that sadness in the mainstream. We should all reconnect with nature.
