I’ve dealt with cravings all my life
Whether of gluttony or companionship, I’ve always wanted more
I tend to find myself holding out my plate for an unsatisfactory second course
And yet as I stare at the remaining crumbs,
All that’s left to feel is numb,
And an unmistakable shame for my own consumption
