My Thoughts On: The Umbrella Academy Season 4 + Series Finale

It was bad. Sucked. Awful... Utterly disappointing. 

I have never seen a show go so horribly downhill like this, so many plotholes and an incredibly unceremonious finale. Not only that, apparently one of the showrunners was a massive prick during production... My condolences to Elliot and everyone else that had to deal with all of that.

I truly think the only worthwhile seasons of this show may be only the first two seasons. The third season is on thin ice.
Season 4, in my opinion, had completely massacred each and every single one of their main characters, via character "development" and the writers seemingly forgetting how to write any of them in the first place.

There were many things that made no sense, such as...

- what the HELL was going on with Five and Lila. It's incredibly creepy on every level, and it really doesn't make any sense at all.
- everyone suddenly gaining other abilities than their original power; only for it not to be utilized at all in later episodes (Allison having telekinesis, Diego being able to redirect any ammunition...)
- Luther regaining his ape body back, despite that not even being part of his power at all.
- The lack of Sloane and literally the lack of any bonds everyone made in Season 3...
- The ENTIRE deal with Reginald and his wife. Yes, they're aliens, but what the hell was the whole goal with that? His wife is dead and he gives the Marigold to a ton of human babies, but for WHAT?? The way his own wife kept interfering with his plans, literally ENDING THE WORLD and telling him that it was the only way to make him see that he was being selfish all along... WHAT???

And the actual finale was just incredibly disappointing. So, we really watched everyone run around and fight unnecessary conflicts for nothing, as they all just die in the end. Not even just simple death, they were completely wiped from the timeline, never existing in the first place.

This show had a lot of amazing concepts; and all of them were thrown away just like that. We went through 3 whole seasons of much character development only for it to be for nothing...
