Me: Okay, so here's my impressions on the live-action Cowboy Bebop so far:
- The CGI is pretty dang good. The depictions of the ships are accurate and honestly not distracting, if that makes sense? The CGI is quality; the scenes that include it don't feel weird or out of place.
- John Cho is a good Spike; not a great Spike, but a good one. To be fair, I can be picky. John Cho is a great actor and wonderful person, so maybe I'm a little too harsh here?
- Speaking of the cast, Mustafa Shakir was a wonderful choice for Jet. Definitely getting the stern, professional ex-cop vibe.
- Alex Hassell as Vicious is.... well, I don't want to judge from only a few lines. I'll hold judgement to see how he develops.
- Great take on the first episode. I won't spoil it with details, but for those who watched the anime, it's the same first episode: Red Eye.
- Soundtrack is on point. Period.
- Also heard they explain, in later episodes, what the deal with Ed is. I've already deducted points from my score of the show in my head for not including THE BEST character in the series... but maybe they'll put up a reasonable explanation?
I'm holding out hope that this will only get better by the episode.
How's everyone else feeling about it?
