Old music has something new music does not have.

Note: This is just my opinion after listening to all types of music for most of my life.

I've noticed that a lot of old music that predates I would until say the mid 90's had something that modern music doesn't and that thing is genuine passion and love for music. Nowadays I can't help but feel as I listen to newer music feel that modern music as a whole regardless of genre was made for a quick buck and to satisfy the big dogs in Hollywood and when I listen to say "Separate Ways" by Journey a song made in 1983 I can't help but realize that this song was a song my parents we're listening to when they we're my age and I can't help but come to the conclusion that older music was made with love and passion for music and were made to be listened to even when the song creators are long dead. Bands like Journey, Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses and artists like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin will always be remembered for their songs that touch the soul by many generations while bands like My Chemical Romance, Seether, Drowning pool and Nickelback and artists like Lady Gaga, P!NK, Flo Rida and Usher will mainly be a Millennial and Gen Z thing. Furthermore older music bands and artists like Twisted Sister for example defined an era which was the entirety of the 1980's along with other bands such as Motley Crue. Dean Martin was one of the most popular singers of the 40's and 50's so when we hear Dean Martin's voice we already picture in our heads an old 1955 Chevy Bel Air smoothly cruising down the street of 1950's suburban America and the man at the wheel is a handsome gentlemen wearing a tuxedo, a fedora and a perfect bright smile with the smell of a speakeasy and a premium fancy cigar. This is one of the other things modern music fails to capture... an era defining energy/vibe that makes it stand out because modern music is very similar to music made in the 2000's and early 2010's now while not every modern song is like this but from my personal experience I see very little difference between music made in the early 2000's vs a song made in the early 2020's hell a lot of "new" songs nowadays are just remakes made by bands/artists and or remixes made by individuals online with a computer program. My final point would be how every modern band/artist seems to be copying and pasting other bands/artists ideas and rhythms and it gets stale pretty quickly and this adds to the feeling that music really hasn't progressed much since the late 90's and early 2000's. Anyways you get the idea this is just my personal opinion thank you for reading all of this I usually don't post things that are this long so if you made it all the way through then thank you and I wish everyone a great day.
