Glass (poem)

Shattered glass on the floor

From mirror you used before

Broken by sorrows of future

Called from those worries

Stopping your breath

Holding back tears

Who will I become

Asking with hope

Go out late at night,

Have a drink, go have fun

You're just a teen isn't that right?

Take that cig, smoke that weed

Come back to your house

All broken down

With blood on your wrists

Apologise to your own mum for what you became

"Mom I'm sorry I'm a failure,

How could I behave like that?

Awful daughter I am,

Deserving the punishment of death"

Lock your room,

Throw out the key

That's your new house,

Your new reality

Locked in four walls

Become someone else,

Everyone's favourite sweet little girl

It's even worse isn't it?

Be kind to yourself,

Ask people for help,

Hopeless feelings getting to you

Who even I am?
