tihs was posted 12 days ago so ofc i wont be telling u to calm down or anything, but i do hope youre able to block this person?? like, idk if shes actually done anything wrong, so i wont speak on that, but if someone distresses you this much because youre jealous (based on ur other replies), i genuinly think you should just remove her from your circle for the both of u :,> uhhh hope this doesnt come off as rude!! u seemed super duper upset :3
thanks and I have sort of removed her from my circle, we don't talk that much anymore since we used to be "friends" but to be honest I was overacting alot (｡ŏ﹏ŏ)

13 year olds trying not to gatekeep a band older than them:
just let her enjoy the music lol? this is completely overreacting. ptv is pop punk, it's going to be popular with a lot of people. don't gatekeep music just because she's mean like any other teenager is or because she's privileged. many punk, hardcore, metalcore, nu metal, etc bands are becoming more popular with teenagers, especially ptv.
be glad that a band you like is receiving more recognition for their good music. you wouldn't see me getting mad that slayer or korn are becoming more mainstream or liked by ppl my age.
Yeah when I wrote this I was definitely overreacting, honestly I just wanted to find anothee reason to not like her I guess, I'm glad ptv is getting the recommendation they deserve and that I'm able to connect with people through their music too , I just don't like the girl and I guess I just latched onto that part for some reason

.... I think you should maybe take a breath, maybe touch some grass. Pierce the Veil is Pop-Punk, and anything that sells in a surburban mall will make it into normie hands, bc its for the populace. so if it's at a Spencers or Hot Topic, chances are even more normies than you think already like it and just don't highlight that about themselves in order to stay consumable/ in line with their family expectations.
I think we set ourselves up for failure the moment we tie our Identity to Media, because media is transformative and when we see our id base get transformed into something less recognizable, we want to feel hurt bc we want to see yourself in it.
Chances are, somehow, someway, she is also hearing her story in the same music, even if your stories are dramatically different on the outside.
Trying to hurt someone who hasn't hurt you directly is never justified, because your ID is something that only exists to you and only you can allow destruction to come to, so when you lash out like that, it is because you aren't happy with yourself....
I don't really even listen to ptv that much anyways so I don't know why I latched onto it. I guess I was just full of jealousy I just /wanted/ something to be mad about? I don't know I listen to peirce the veil alot these days because a friend showed me them and I can't really talk to them anymore so the music reminds me of them

I don't know why I feel this way when I'm jealous of people, sometimes I feel as if they don't deserve what they have because I've been through so much worse. Now that I type it out, I sound like a total ass hole I really needed this reality check Jesus christ

Maybe to help you process your feelings, you could write them a letter, or make a collage of things that remind you of yall's time together. I hope you find a 'clique' that clicks with you soon, good luck and be safe out there!
