Epidemic of Loneliness

I've heard this phrase before and not thought of it much, but now I'm legitimately wondering if everyone is feeling this way to some extent. I have friends, I have a loving partner, I have a fulfilling job, but sometimes it feels like something is still missing. Sometimes I feel alone, even with people around me, or I fill unfulfilled as a person. But I have heard the same from others, from friends, from people on here. Is it just like this amongst millennials? Does it just seem this way because we have acess to everyone's lives on the internet? Is this just a part of the human condition? I don't expect these questions to be answered, but just know if you are feeling this way too, you are not alone <3

I think the promotion of an internet where we don't interact with each other the same way people used to on sites like these can be incredibly isolating, to the point where that isolation may even spill into our real lives this and the general decline of face to face interaction with our loved ones are all contributing factors. This doesn't necessarily mean that phones and social media are the only things causing the younger generations to experience the deep feeling of aloneness lots of people also blame the lack of accessible third spaces in the 21st century. The loneliness epidemic is a very real thing that's affecting very real people.

It happens to everyone. And often times it comes at the height of one's happiness. When everything is in balance and seemingly perfect. Perhaps we lose that sense of purpose that we feel when things are not in order?
