I am moving to Brooklyn. Into a room in a big house with a piano and a wraparound porch, where I can paint. Like an outside studio. Spread all the paintings out and look at them simultaneously to truly understand what is going on.
For all of September, my paintings will be featured in the sidewalk-facing window of the Blick art supply in Chelsea at 6th Ave and 23rd St. If I did not have this particular series of paintings, I would not be showing work in their window. After passing on everything else I showed her, the manager responded most viscerally to those, and said she had not seen work like that before.
In NYC? I call that a win.
