Binged all of Batman: Caped Crusader today ! Spoilers for the show in all my rambling below.
I started multi-tasking and lost focus somewhere along my viewing, so ik there's some stuff I probably missed. I plan on watching it again later.

My short, very surface-level notes (mostly about the characters):
• I thought lady Penguin was cool asf. I liked how she was genuinely a bit scary! The part where her sons were pleading with her was sick
• HARLEY was cool asf. I think her story is really neat, especially with how she doesn't seem to be tied to the joker at all. Also, I actually really like her design despite the color scheme change
• Harvey was interesting, but ngl, not in love with his two-face look. There are some really awesome two-face designs out there, and I feel like this is just not it
• I like Barbara <3
• The show is taking artistic liberties with many characters and origin stories, and I really like that! It can be fun to see different interpretations of characters that sometimes become kinda copy-paste after a while, y'know?
• (^ Keeping all that in mind,) The Joker...why does he sound like that. Like I said, I like stuff being switched up every now and them, but my gut reaction to his tone was...ehhh. We did only hear a very brief glimpse of it, so I'm hoping that maybe the show will be able to sell me on it next season :]
• I feel like some of the show could've been, idk...stretched out a bit? I'm mostly thinking about Harvey. I think his whole arc could've been longer. Same with Harley, I felt like she was found out as a villain kinda quick. I will say!!- My feelings on this are for sure subject to change! I did binge it all at once and didn't pay it full attention the entire time. The episodes kind of meld together in my brain.
• I did not like Selina. Girl got caught IMMEDIATELY on her VERY FIRST Catwoman robbery. I'm used to her being such a slick and witty character, but in this show she seemed just a tad pathetic imo. I also didn't love the dynamic between her and Bruce- mostly because of the above. CatBat is fun in other Batman media *because* Catwoman can keep up with Batman, and a lot of the time he's actually the one that has to try and keep up with *her*. Also I don't like her design </3 ik it's a reference to the Golden Age comics, but that doesn't change my mind on it. I can handle the show changing a lot of characters' aspects, but I can't handle Selina being lame (◞ ‸ ◟) (SLASH J! AND THIS IS ALL JUST MY OPINION)
• I don't have much to say about Clayface other than that no Clayface will ever outshine Ethan Bennet (The Batman 2004) in my eyes. That is all.
 • I could not decide whether or not I liked Batman's voice. I think I'm leaning towards yes. I think he's a little goofy looking as well, but I do like the look!
• I loved seeing that glimpse of kid Bruce being a weird little traumatized freak of a child. I am of course talking about the part where he wakes Alfred up in the middle of the night and talks about how he'll make every criminal pay. He looked so deranged in that scene.
• I like Alfred and Bruce's relationship. They seem weirdly distant in the beginning. Where in most Batman media Alfred is a father-figure to Bruce, he's treated more like just a butler, and is referred to as "Pennyworth" several times by Bruce. This might seem sad, but really we are just seeing them become closer throughout the show. Bruce finally calls him Alfred at the end of the season :) I'm a sucker for Alfred being that father-figure for him, but this was an interesting view of them.

Note- I am sort of a newer Batman fan. To be more specific, I've been distantly a fan of the character for a while, but have only gotten into the actual stories and content within the last year or so. And I still haven't seen much. I get a lot of my knowledge via internet osmosis. What I have seen: The Lego Batman, A playthrough of Batman: The Telltale Series, The Batman (2022), The Batman (2004), and the Harley Quinn show (not exactly about Batman, but I'm counting it as related. I haven't read any comics at all. Anyways, basically what I'm saying is that I don't know anything and I'm pretty much a fake fan <3Â
Tell me your favorite Batman or Batman-related show/movie/comic/game/whatever if you've read this far. I like The Batman 2004 :D and I plan on listening to Batman: The Audio Adventures sometime soon

1. Joker sounds like that cuz in the Golden Age comics he wasn't funny or goofy. Just murderous and greedy. He was basically penguin but even more murderous.
2. She just became Catwoman. That's how she was in the Golden Age. She wasn't very good at her job then but she sometimes got away.
3. Glad you are getting into the comics. The Golden Age is a fun period but it's lowkey borrrriiiiinnnnnggggg
