I am sure you know this, but In Case you didn't: This is one of the few songs by the band that was written by only one member because they usually did their songs together, but Zombie was crafted just the singer after March 20, 1993, during "The Troubles" when two bombs, planted by the Irish Republica Armi, exploded in the northern English town of Warrington.
The blast from the second bomb injured dozens of people, but most cruelly claimed the lives of three-year-old Jonathan Ball and 12-year-old Tim Parry: a twin tragedy that shocked and appalled both the UK and Irish public- It really affected the singer Dolores and she says she pretty much sat down and wrote this song immediately with those feelings from the news.
