ok so last friday i registered for classes for college for the first time and omg i believed it when everyone said that it's ruthless but i really wish it wasn't 😭
i literally had one class that i for sure needed to get and i had others for ge's and the one class i really needed i couldn't get into
so now i have to wait till august 14th to try and get one of the 4 reserved spots for freshman/transfer students and i'd have to try by like 6 am to have a good shot at getting into the class which is really early
and if that doesn't work then i have to wait till the 29th to try and get a good spot on the waitlist and hope that someone drops the class so i can get in
then if none of those work i'm gonna be behind on credits for my major which sucks but ig i'd just have to try again for winter quarter
but during winter quarter it's a different course that's offered it's not the same one so idk if it'll be easier or harder to get into that class
and anyway one of my ge classes is like kinda related to my major in a way so it's not like i'm gonna be totally unattached my first quarter
it's called how to be a critic: understanding cultural products and practices with an emphasis in fashion so i feel like that should help with art history especially since there's like some architectural elements as well
so i already know which course i'm gonna drop if i'm able to get into the ancient mediterranean art class it's gonna be the discovery and concepts of nutrition since it's an online class and i don't wanna do too much online since my general psychology class is hybrid
and then i'm gonna be learning japanese guys
this was literally the only class that worked out for the exact time and professor i wanted which is pretty awesome since there were only a few spots left when it came to my pass time
i've already started trying to memorize hiragana so that i can have a little background knowledge but hopefully, it goes well
cause i have a feeling this will be the hardest class of the quarter because i've never been the best at learning languages so idk
hopefully, it'll be ok because i do think it would be really cool to learn and it's not like i'm taking the one class and expecting to be fluent i have to take it for at least a year and if i'm enjoying learning it i'd really consider doing it for longer
so yeah that's been my college class registration fiasco
