Day 9: Closet Clean-Out Approach

Goal: Go through your closet until you love everything in it!! DOWNSIZE!!!!

Reminder: If it's not a heck yes, it's a heck no..

Start: Start out by wearing something extremely basic to act as a base for trying on clothes, like a black bodysuit or a fitted t-shirt & denim/shorts/leggings.

1) Try on clothes by categories e.g. sweaters, jeans, skirts, etc.

2) When trying on clothes, ask these questions to decide if you're going to keep the piece, throw it away, or donate it:

a. Have you worn it in the last year?

b. Is there a hole in it or a button missing?

c. Does it fit well?

d. Is it flattering?

e. Does it have sentimental value?

3) Either put clothing in "keep" pile, in a garbage bag, or in a donate pile

4) This process can be done in segments e.g. doing sweaters/jeans in one day & skirts/shorts on another day.

5) Refold & store clothes you're keeping neatly (decide where is best to store them based on season, bulkiness, & how often you grab for it), throw away damaged clothes, & throw bag of donate clothes in trunk to donate later.

6) Repeat process until finished.

Time: 1 hr-2 hr per session
