Me & my love of color theory

I'm not particularly great by any means (most of the art I've done in the 7 years I've been taking this seriously were traditional and in exclusively pencil), but color theory has to be one of my favorite parts of art.

Maybe it's because I'm a freak, but I get so crazy whenever I see a piece of art that has amazing colors. It's hard for me to explain, but you know how people react when they're in a room alone and their crush just texted them out of nowhere? That. Exactly that.

I can spend hours looking into the ways different artists comprehend and explain color. As with many people, I am especially a fan of what people have coined as "the hyperpop art style". The vibrance and meticulousness of that coloring style is what I live for.

Even then, I love purposefully muted colors as well, or oil paintings that feel alive because of their deliberate color choices.

Not to mention when people use color in photography. It's genuinely beautiful.

Lightly tinted monochrome is also amazing. One of my favorite artists does most of his work in grayscale (typically with a pop of either cyan or red) and it is genuinely enchanting to look at.

This is most likely just a me thing considering I don't do much other than enjoy and create art, but I just felt the need to share my love with this aspect of the creative process.
