Get a dashcam. I know crashing is a concern for newer drivers, especially with some maniacs we have on our road ways. Having that and good insurance can give yourself a peace of mind.

Driving is a skill that will get better over time. Almost as equatable to riding a bike without training wheels. I think you just need more exposure therapy and practice when it comes to streets, then gradually over time, roads to intersections, then to highways.

Common things to watch for: turns, red lights/stop signs, speed of the road signs, changing lanes, parking, and looking both ways before doing U-turns or changing directions.

the more i've gone, i've been able to remember certain things and i'm somewhat getting better at navigating streets in my neighborhood! thats a plus. Highways are the biggest fear of minme, yet i try and study my friend or my dad when they drive on highways, its hard to keep up ngl but like you said it'll get easier and better overtime. My next practice i wanna go on roads !!!. Parking is a lil hard but i'm getting the hang of it

id recommend driving around less populated areas just to get the feel for things without having to worry about other drivers! places like the suburbs might be good to get u acclimatized before throwing urself in the deep end :D?
