Journal Entry #113: Welcome to August - 08/04/24

Summer's coming to an end! July always seems to slip through my fingers.

On Monday, I got some blood work done and just drove around. On Tuesday, I went shopping with my sister. I got this nice powder blue cami that I hope to enjoy wearing. Later that day I received some clothes I asked my grandmother to get me: a pair of baggy cargo jeans and a black jacket with one white stripe down each sleeve. I love them both, but the jacket is just too cool! I love it so much, but it's also a little too hot lol. It's made out of fleece. On Wednesday, I cleaned up my room to start August fresh. I got a call from someone I have been talking to on and off; I was surprised since it was rather personal, and he hadn't done that before. Thursday wasn't much, but on Friday and Saturday I had to wake up rather early. On Friday, I had to go to the dealership to have my car taken care of. Also, I ended up going grocery shopping, where it proceeded to storm badly. So badly, that there are a few trees whose trunks snapped. On Saturday, I had to attend and help with a stadium seat installation. These are done for the band my sister is a part of, but for whatever reason we didn't go last year, so I never was able to write my thoughts on it. I hate it. It's hot, I have to deal with the loud drills, it's monotonous manual labor, and it's borderline exploitative. On the bright side, I think I don't have to do this anymore. 

Oh, also, on Friday, the teaser for the final episode of Murder Drones was released! I'm super excited! A lot of people are upset that this is the series finale, meaning there will be no new episodes. I'm not really surprised. One, Liam Vickers, the show's creator, is known for writing bad endings, which makes me think the series will end with a good amount of closure. Two, GLITCH has other projects to attend to, that being TADC and their newest title. GLITCH is an indie studio, meaning there's only so much they can take on at a time. Sometimes it's okay to let a series only be a season long. I am curious how this is going to end. My prediction is that all of our main characters die, unfortunately. Funnily enough, this episode will premiere the Friday night of my first week of school, so I'll likely rush home to my apartment to enjoy it.

Speaking of academics, I'm a little nervous to go back. However, I'm tired of having to deal with my mom and everything she wants me to do and what she complains about. I'm mostly worried about the difficulty of some of my classes, and trying to prepare to get an internship. I just don't feel ready. I spent a lot of money this summer, and yet I didn't make a penny. I'm also still struggling with my health. I am excited to meet new people and reunite with old classmates. I also can't wait to go and do whatever I want since I'll have a car this academic year. One of my roommates has actually already moved in, yet I haven't heard a word from her. She's going to be rushing, but rush hasn't started yet. It's funny, they wouldn't shut up before, but now they're quiet. My other roommate moves in later this week. I am fighting the urge to recommend events to attend and places to go. My freshman year ended a bit ago lol

Anyway, hopefully, things improve.
