In which I recommend trashy isekai comics.

Why are they trashy? Because there are almost no non-trashy isekais and frankly I don't even like those ones. Log Horizon? More like I'm logging-out instead of reading that boring nonsense!

Most isekai stories are based heavily in the fantasy genre, but my #1 pick is actually an exception as it takes place in a sci-fi universe. Really hoping they make that one in to an anime soon, as it has a lot of potential for greatness. The rest of em except one are fantasy, though. That's just how the cookie crumbled!

  1. "Mezametara Saikyou Soubi to Uchuusenmochi Datta node, Ikkodate Mezashite Youhei toshite Jiyuu ni Ikitai" Otherwise known as "Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!". Basically, an office worker who regularly plays a game which seems to be a mix of Elite: Dangerous or Star Citizen and Eve Online finds himself at the helm of an extremely advanced light combat vessel, and decides to make a go of being a badass space mercenary. Along the way he picks up some extra crew members (girls of course, it has the harem tag) and gets in to hijinks. Don't ask how how they make the lab-grown meat, you do NOT want to know!
  2. "Mezase Gouka Kyakusen!! ~Sen Shokan Skill De Isekai Rich Life Wo Te Ni Irero~" AKA "Striving for the Luxury Liner!! Get that Rich Isekai Life with a Ship Summoning Skill".  Can you tell I have a thing for vehicles? My preferred game genre is also vehicular survival, though there are very few good ones out there. Worlds Adrift was a favorite until it shut down. Anyway, the plot! Guy falls off a boat and then gets sent to a fantasy world by a god, where he has access to a skill which allows him to summon invulnerable boats that he can use for merchant activities. He starts trading spices and cloth and makes friends with a group of badass adventurer women.
  3. "Otomege Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu" AKA "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs". If spaceships are the coolest vehicles, then airships are the second coolest. After being forced to unlock all the CGs in a game so his selfish sister can see them, the main character passes out while walking down some stairs and croaks, and wakes up as the son of a minor noble in the far future where science undid the world and magic kind of put it back together a little bit, and the world has come to resemble the very plot of that same game! Technically not an isekai, I think? But still good. Leon is an incorrigible goober and his AI partner Luxion, who happens to be a highly advanced airship, plays the straight-man of the duo. They made one season (so far) of an anime for this one, and it is pretty good!
  4. "Nihonkoku Shoukan" AKA "Summoned Japan". This one is interesting. The entire land mass of Japan as well as everything on it, including all the people, suddenly get transported to a fantasy world. The plot isn't the greatest and the art is really weird at times, but I enjoy this one anyway just because of all the crazy situations and the even crazier faces the fantasy-world belligerents make every time one of them realizes that they have vastly underestimated modern technology and the willingness of the Japanese people to launch missiles and lay down mortar fire. Definitely a "guilty pleasure" read, but still worth looking at. you might like it!
  5. "The New Gate". This one got an anime last season that was done pretty okayish. The basic premise is that a Sword-Art-Online situation happened with a bunch of people trapped in a death-game in VR, but the main character who defeats the big-bad final boss doesn't get to log out at the end with everyone else, and is instead transported in to a real world where the events of the game took place 500 years ago. He gets to meet his long-lived elf companion, who rather than being an NPC is now a very real woman and definitely in love with him. For most of the story he goes around doing stuff while hiding his powers because after the events of the game he's pretty much a god compared to all the people in the fantasy world.
  6. "Goshujin-sama to Yuku Isekai Survival!" AKA "Survival in Another World with My Mistress". This title is very much "Adults Only" as it features a lot of frontal and behind-al nudity. Basically, dude wakes up in a fantasy world where all the not-humans are at war with the humans over the fact that the humans have been persecuting and enslaving them. Also, he has Minecraft powers. Like he can make bigass cubes, use crafting recipes just like in the game, grow crops at lightning speed, etc. He immediately gets himself a dark elf girlfriend who just so happens to be the commander of the not-human army and uses all of his skills to support her and her goals, and also they bone a lot. And he also bones her underlings a lot (she's okay with this). There's a lot of boning in this one, you've been warned.
  7. "The Villainess Captured the Grand Duke". This one is really cute. A total fangirl gets transmigrated in to her favorite novel and immediately abandons her shitty noble family to pursue her favorite character, who has badass sword skills and magical combat powers that he has to trade his emotions for in order to use. Her strategy is to annoy him as much as possible by fangirling very hard so that he can use those emotions of annoyance in order to remain human and combat-viable, because otherwise once he runs out of emotions he'll go mad and start killing other people indiscriminately. Of course this somehow eventually leads to him falling for her, because that's how Otome Isekai stories always end up.
  8. "I am the Villainous Lord of the Interstellar Nation". Another science fiction title! A guy gets transmigrated by a demon who feeds on misfortune. In his efforts to become the ideal Evil Noble who Exploits his Citizens, he ends up actually improving all of their lives all the time and being extremely thankful that he came here, and the misfortune eating demon almost starves to death repeatedly. Very humorous.
  9. "Chounin A wa Akuyaku Reijou wo Doushitemo Sukuitai" AKA "Villager A Wants to Save the Villainess no Matter What!". Instead of reincarnating as a noble, this guy comes to the new world as a complete nobody and has to make something of himself from the ground-up, in order to save his favorite character from a bad ending. Also he ends up using the principles of magic to build a personal jet-bike type plane thing. Pretty neat. This has an "erotica" tag on some websites, but I'd say it is actually just above a PG-13.
  10. "Isekai Walking". Pretty simple premise. Guy gets summoned to another world but the king doesn't want him because he's got low stats, and gets a skill that lets him level up by walking long distances, so he basically becomes a professional traveler. Over time he becomes very strong and has to avoid being pressed in to service by the country that abandoned him. He also makes friends with a fluffy cloud-like spirit that loves to eat bacon.

These stories are all in my "Favorites" folder for various reasons. Maybe you can find something you like here, too. Personally, I don't need any recommendations, if it is fantasy or isekai I have probably at least glanced at it already (reading manga is my main hobby besides gaming, and as a disabled shut-in this means I have read thousands of stories), but if you want to leave a suggestion for a story other people might enjoy as a reply here, feel free to do so.
