Hey SpaceSleepers (56): New Phone! Who is This?

After almost a month and a half of having to struggle through not having a working cell phone, I was finally able to get a new phone to replace the one that was not even doing the bare minimum to be considered working. I do have to admit that I was actually very perturbed throughout my purchase simply because I don't particularly like having to pay for a new device, but that was subsided by the the in-store promotion of a $240 gift card. I'm planning on putting the money to a phone case since it feels like I am on house arrest when I don't have a phone case just from how a sheer breeze could shatter the screen. I'm also planning on buying a capture card to stream my console to my friends.

The biggest bummer of the day is genuinely finding out that it isn't just apple trying to remove the AUX port, but Samsung as well. I was dumbfounded when I scoured the edges of my phone for the headphone jack and couldn't find it. Apparently, they keep lowering the AUX port to less and less phones and all of which are lower end. I know its because they want to force people to purchase proprietary Bluetooth headphones / earbuds, but it feels so personal, like they hate the man who is discomforted by change. They say its for saving space but if it really was, they'd add it to the folding phones. Not to mention they don't even give adapters with the phones anymore, just the wire, meaning you have to buy that separately. Not to mention that the life spans of these phones are, AGAIN, getting shorter and shorter. A total bummer (08/01/2024).

Yeah! It really sucks that the companies that make stuff that's needed nowadays (phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) deteriorate so quickly. Apple especially started the trend of releasing software updates that greatly reduced the speed of the phone just before they release a new model, and similar to the headphone jack problem, other companies followed suit because it would cause their sales to go up... All of these companies are in "competition" for features until it comes to making sure your device turns into a potato when a new thing comes out.
