Cool stuff Thursdays #1 - Neocities.org

Hey there, wellcome to my new posting chain! Every thursday, sometimes also other days, or more entrys,i will highlight some cool stuff on the internet. This post i picked Neocities, which is ideal for those, who want to build their own website that can contain ANYTHING, without any annoying ads.

Whatever you do - building small game, want to make a about me page, or you want to make a chatroom that looks wery 2000s using third-party software, any idea is wellcomed here! And its really without any annoying ads. But, you can get all of these things, with a twist -  You will have to know some basics of HTML. 

haha, who  believed this? In 2024 learning HTML? duh, we have AI!

Yes,  i forgot to mention - You can now also use AI to make HTML code. You can also make AI generated html scripts or you can simply check Small HTML basic script - Pastebin link where i just used most usable HTML snippets. Paste this in your first page to see what thing does what stuff!

So how do you make one website here? At the Neocities login page, you will have to put your website name. After that, add your e-mail adress to a field saying "email". Wait for a verification button that comes in the mail folder. Also check spam if there arent any if you encounter to get a problem when you cant find your verification button :)

After verification, remove the index.html contents that contains a button to go to neocities.org main page and some wellcome text, and put the Small HTML basic script - Pastebin contents in the index.html. Now click "save" in the corner and now look at your website and you will see the thing you wrote here!
