Suspicious Stew

Currently in a 2-Week Minecraft Phase and one of my favorite things to do when I'm playing multiplayer Minecraft is to 🔥Make Soup🔥

Honestly one of the things I'd most like to see in future MC updates is more Edible crops and food crafting options. Big fan of setting up a farm and making food to share with everyone.

I'm not sure how common this information is, but when you craft your own Suspicious Stew you can control the potion effect that you get from it. It all depends on the flowers you use.

Let's start with the basics: Mushroom Stew.

  • 1 Red Mushroom

  • 1 Brown Mushroom

  • and a Bowl

Easy stuff, the hardest part is probably finding the mushrooms. Here's what you need to kick it up a notch and turn it into

Suspicious Stew

(Note: Depending on which version of MC you play, the effects may last for different amounts of time. I'll format the times like: Java/Bedrock)

For Helpful Potion Effects:

  • Allium: Fire Resistance (4 sec / 2 sec)

  • Blue Orchid OR Dandelion: Saturation (0.35 sec / 0.3 sec)

  • Cornflower: Jump Boost (6 sec / 4 sec)

  • Oxeye Daisy: Regeneration (8 sec / 6 sec)

  • Poppy OR Torchflower: Night Vision (5 sec / 4 sec)

For Harmful Potion Effects:

  • Azure Bluet: Blindness (8 sec / 6 sec)

  • Lily of the Valley: Poison (12 sec / 10 sec)

  • Tulips (All Colors): Weakness (9 sec / 7 sec)

  • Wither Rose: Wither Effect (8 sec / 6 sec)

These are the only flowers that can be used to craft Suspicious Stew at the moment. I wasn't very confident that we'd get more variations but while writing this I learned that Torchflowers can also be used for the Night Vision soup now. I guess I'll have to update this blog if any new Suspicious Stews come out. But yeah add any of these flowers to your Mushroom Stew recipe and boom! Homemade suspicious stew. Mmmm, tastes like sus.

I'm also pretty sure that the item won't actually tell you which effect it has, just that it's Suspicious Stew. So you can build up someone's trust with Beneficial Soup and then BOOM. Poison.

I made this blog partially to share my love of Crafting Soup but also because it's convenient to have the recipe stuff on hand and easy to find teehee but I hope I could educate a gamer or two on the joys of suspicious stew or at Least help someone kill time by reading this
