How can I ask my mom to let me start dressing more uniquely without weirding her out?😓

I wanna try alt styles/fashion sooooo bad but im afraid of what my parents and family will think of it or if they’ll even allow me to do so not to slander her or anything but my moms pretty basic she’s one of those people who calls anything and everything out of the norm “emo” and judges pretty heavily so when it comes to me wanting to dress out of the norm myself it’s a pretty tricky situation….

Any advice?
