Just rlly want 2 rant abt Charli XCX + BRAT, + how much I H8 IT!!!!!!

Ok, so I used 2 b a huge fan, right? I like listened 2 her obsessively a couple yrs ago, like no other artist, all her unreleased stuff + shit 2. Anyway, after Sophie passed away (RIP) there was this like real shift in her work. IDK if she wud have done this anyway, but sumthn waz off + wtvr she made Crash and tbh it was a mess. She was like this is my last album on my label so I'm going with a basic pop sound to appeal to the mainstream right? But she also wanted 2 b like actually this is my best wrk evr + y r u guys not liking it like my old drastically dfrnt stuff? Like rlly whining on Twitter + shit.

+ then she strtd callin sum fan of hers who like complimented her but critiqued her a little a cnt, + then she like played it off as a joke. I rmbr during this time she took all these three day Twitter breaks also, it was so weird! As a big artist like that, I just nvr got ovr her doing that to a FAN and then like brushing it off?? Rlly like fuck u if u like my wrk from these past 5 wtvr yrs, my stuff that I made with Sophie who got me this big LGBT+ fanbase bcuz of this groundbreaking + experimental sound. Weird. On top of all that she dedicated Crash, her boring, TikTok, strip-mall Hollister, <2 min a song no real collabs basic boring shit album, 2 Sophie which was just beyond. 

During all dis, she was just doing this weird thing where she was like I'm a bad bitch, IDGAF, I'm cnty + cool wtvr (we'll come back 2 this) but @ the same time being unable 2 take the smallest amount of criticism from fans + the industry she has been in 4 a super long time, like weird deep insecurity + a need 2 constantly reaffirm that she's famous (comin back 2 that l8r 2) 

Oh, back 2 Crash, she wud also be like O Point Never is producing this track, Rina Sawayama is on this track, + then u listen 2 those + u don't hear those artists anywhere on it? Like what?? Charli used 2 b so gud abt incorpoating ANY artist in2 one of her songs + just bringin out the best of both of them 2 create this unbelievable new thing, but now.....

So yeah, I hated Crash, but then I waz like ok I thought Hot Girls waz gud (her more experimental thing) + her Barbie song was fine, rlly not gr8 if u hear it now, but I was like gr8 maybe this huge moment will allow her to get back to taking risks more. I rmbr, that's sumthn she rlly said, like ppl listening 2 Crsh will get more ppl listenin 2 Track 10 and stuff, hmmm let's check back in on that.

So wtvr, Von Dutch comes out + I waz like gr8 a club album I am majorly in2 that, this was the time that Shygirl's incredible Club Shy came out so I was hopeful (Charli waz rlly acting like she had nvr made club music b4 which is not true, c pink diamond etc, but wtvr). Prbbly seeing this comin, but I cud not get in2 Von Dutch, from the y2k tiktok-core ass name 2 how hard she was pushin this just ok starter song, it was confusing. I would also call it an ear-bleeder, like sumthn about the instrumental is just so obnoxious (no, not in an intentional bratty way, ur song is just produced horribly) 

This is kind of turnin in2 a book whoops, so wtvr then ofc she had remix remix remix bcuz gotta do it 4 tiktok and the al gore rhtyms now, mix with Addison that relsed waz a real let down especially when the version she played at Boiler Room was sooo mcuh btr. IDEC, the cringe mv 4 360 or sumthn rlsd, again rlly just her flaunting her celebrity with all those cameos, like she is so insecure! The music is so mediocre, but ur pushing it non-stop like it is the peak of club music, of electronic music, of experiemntal, y2k, bratcore, girl pop like wtf r u talking abt? It becomes even more frustrating bcuz she waz making stuff literally that WAS doing that like 6 yrs ago but she refuses to release it just out of a dislike 4 her fans I guess. Like this is ur new artistry, ur shining gem? Talk talk talk talk to me in spanish talk to me in your native language talk talk talk talk to me talk to me. I luv a lot of pop music, a lot of simple/dumb/not lyrically deep wtvr pop music but at least it is genuine and fun. I listen 2 that shit + it just seems like Charli doesn't care anymore all she cares about is continuing to be famous, reaffirm her fame and influence, and then pretend like she is above it all. 

Just so disappointing, even more so cuz she has tons of incredible really idk emotionally hitting Sophie produced tracks that are just unreleased like XCX world heard by very few ppl, that she will just nvr put out there. Instead 2 honor Sophie, she slaps her tribute song where she complains abt performing the songs they made 2gther and loosely plays on one of Sophie's formulas randomly in the middle of the shitstorm that is BRAT. BRAT is not an album, it's rlly just a tiktok moment and a new pfp icon where the big trnd is that ur getting in on the trnd, in the end it rlly means nothing. 

So while Charli complains on Twitter abt her fans who paid 2 go 2 her shows askin her 2 play Sophie produced Taxi bcuz it makes her sad + she wud rather play her trrble new music, @ least Sophie's posthumous album is coming out. Stream Reason Why.
