why do all of the best musicians stop making music so early on... they always drop 2-4 of the most breath taking ablums in human history then dip FOR WHAT!?! they just completely drop off the face of the earth like nothing ever happened. does it have to do with the fact that music doesnt bring them liveable money? do they just lose interest? or is it something else entirely that stops them?? now i know the reasoning will differ from case to case, but on a more general level it still interests me as to why they stop so early into their careers.many of these artists seem to quit a year or 2 into their careers, staying relatively unknown. while financial issues would seem to make sense, i dont quite understand why that would necessarily stop them producing music, sure they wouldnt be able to keep music as their main job but could it not be a hobby or maybe even a side hustle?? now ill admit i know absolutely fuck all about music besides the fact that it sounds good so maybe im just dumb and it would be way too expensive to just be a hobby. and i get that its very time consuming to produce then write lyrics for songs, but if its not your main job and youre not signed to an agency surely theres no real rush to constantly put out music. but i wouldve thought that if it was something you were passionate about you would find a way to continue, even if its not quite ideal.other ideas i could come up with include; creative block causing a lack of interest, just a general lack of interest, feeling like the reward gained isnt worth the effort put in, not being to handle this newfound fame and things that happen in life like familial issues and illness just killing any passion felt. i know there is no one true answer to this, but i think its kinda a crazy coincidence how all of these amazing artists quit music before their 3rd year. another thing i think is interesting that loosely relates to this is the fact that the discographies of those artists who have lengthy careers always seem to fizzle out in their later years, they lose a lot of the flare that made them stand out from the crowd and boost them into stardom in the first place. recently a lot of these pop icons who have been around since forever seem to have switched from whatever they were doing before to the same generic, sanitized house music that seems to be popular amongst twinks nowadays. maybe its a good thing that a lot of these musicians quit before they get the chance become another (failed) attempt at "experimental hyperpop".

why do all the best musicians quit music so early on...

I think sometimes it's for the best that they don't go on for too long. There are quite a few music artists that I listen to that have only produced 2 - 4 good albums (Panic! At The Disco, Bullet For My Valentine, The Used, Fall Out Boy, etc) while their later albums suck (and no, I'm not counting any EPs here).
And then there are the short lived bands like Cute Is What We Aim For that have had a short career and didn't get the opportunity to sell out just yet.
Of course, there are always exceptions out there, but like they always say, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.
it is still kinda sad that they had their career cut so short for whatever reason.
