I legit just listened to Childish Gambino's new album, Bando Stone and the New World and Lithonia (the songs named after his home town) just has so much f*cking venom man. The songs literal first words are "Cody LaRae, he had a break. He's findin' out, that nobody gives a f*ck." Its him talking third person about the character he plays, Bando Stone seemingly being a stage name for the characters musical endeavours. He seems to be talking about himself. He recently came back from a break, releasing Swarm in early 2024. He also announced that Bando Stone and the New World would be his last album, which is honestly sad. He makes great music and from what i can tell, he's given up from lack of recognition. For the past decade hes been pumping out amazing albums and the guys just sick and tired of being overlooked. For example in the bridge he says "My sweet Lithonia, what have you done? These are your children and i am your son." As i mentioned earlier, the song is named after Lithonia, Georgia, his home town. The songs pop rock genre is a contrast to his usual hip-hop style, and it kinda reminds me of a record that like Simple Plan or MCR would have released. Its a mix of angsty and catchy that feels very late 2000's to early 2010's.

Lmao im not a music critic, i aint fantano i just wanted to talk about this cause i mean its childish gambino like i like his stuff and its sad to see him retire. though hes confirmed he'll be back you never know.
