Journal Entry #112: Gloomy Late July? - 07/28/24

I'm not happy with how the weather's been the past week. I don't think I've seen so many clouds and rain during July.

So, I made a decision on the car, and my parents got me the Corolla! It's a white 2018 one. It looks okay on the outside, but the inside is so stylish. It also has a CD player, which I tested on the drive home. The sky was a beautiful shade that evening, and with the music playing, it was even better. The car also has lane assist, which I, unfortunately, trigger a lot since I hug the curb of the road. The car needs some recalls taken care of and a good detailing, but other than that it's ready to go.

Not much happened during the rest of the week until the weekend. Oh, except that I got some lavender milk boba tea! It was yummy. On Saturday, I visited my grandparents. My grandmother is celebrating her birthday, and we celebrated with pizza and chocolate cake. We enjoyed each other's company, and then went to my grandpa's house. We talked there for a while and then went home. Unfortunately, we had to deal with terrible traffic for forty minutes, and an unbelievable rainstorm. We got home safe though.

Summer is ending! So is July. I'm probably going to spend my week cleaning and prepping for school. I'm super excited to go back and meet new people. I'm also extremely excited to have my own room and be able to drive everywhere. During freshman year it sometimes felt as though I was confined to campus only since I lived there. Not anymore! So far, I've bought some clothes, a car air freshener, and a car decal for myself. There are still a lot of necessary items to get, which makes me wonder when my mom and I are going to do a big college shop to use Target's discount. Also, hopefully things clear up this week. There's lots to do.
