"Over and Over Again"

I stand on the edge of the world, stare down at the pit in my stomach as i learn fear like a child over again.

Sit in silence and listen, understanding each thought letter by letter like a cassette left to play over again.

Stare through the eye of the needle, recognise your reflection in the knife and restart like a failed game level over again

Who am I if not my blood, and who am i if i leave my son alone, relying on another like a fool over again.

Drown in the salt of your own ocean, a seed overwatered by experiences and a sudden halt as salt water mixes with blood and you rebirth over again

A light shines down upon thee, red turn brown as you oxidise, stare down and start over again.

But now, there is no start, no end. The warmth dies out and finds new meaning, leaving a cold lump, in the way. Now, there is no way to do it over again and again and again and again, no need to do it again, to wake up again.
