When We Shine

When We Shine

I dreamed that I was a star,

That shined in a lonely path,

Near the planets no one ever chose,

And I floated there day by day.

Beneath the void and the rays of sun

I grew and floated there alone,

Gathering lights and colours hour by hour,

And storing it within my core,

Yet, never knew,

Just why I waited there and grew.

I dreamed that you were a planet

That was dim and ignored,

You floated across space to where I linger,

You shimmered and sparkled with all your might.

You rotated around my force,

I woke to joy with a spark,

And floated up to you in bliss

The treasured lights in my heart;

And then I knew,

That I shine best with you.
