Handheld/portable games were generally a "port" of a console game, and rarely lived up to their brother system's playability.
Often lacking the graphics and even the button mapping, most ports to handheld games had little to do with the original console versions, save the name.
Tekken Advance for Gameboy Advance and Star Wars The Force unleashed were two very well done ports.
Both in game play, and in game graphics (considering the constraints the portable platforms had).
Tekken Advance is basically Tekken 3. It was the first time Tekken was ported to a Nintendo system. It's so close to the original that most of the "special" moves use the same button combinations. The Force Unleashed is exactly the same game play as the PS2 version and only lacks in the PSP's limited graphics processing power (although, as a handheld from the first decade of the 2000s, it's graphics power is quite impressive).
2 of my favorite titles, perfectly ported to a couple of the best handhelds ever made.
