I made this account over a year ago to try to make friends but then I backed out because I'm still kinda scared to talk to strangers and then I forgot that this website existed, I discovered SpaceHey through YouTube and TikTok, and I wanna clear my confusion a bit since I didn't entirely understand SpaceHey much.
╰┈➤ What do you guys usually do on Spacehey? Is it like any other social media, such as Facebook, Tumblr, etc.?
╰┈➤ I wanted to make friends on this web but I don't know how to, do you guys usually just go through other people's profiles, view their interests, and then message them directly or how do you guys usually make friends on here? I'm still lowkey shy even when making friends through the internet.
╰┈➤ how do you connect/find people with the same interests as you?
╰┈➤ Is coding your profile hard to do so?
╰┈➤ lastly, is this website good for boosting artwork? I'm a fan artist and I wanted to boost my works for commission purposes.

These are the best answers I can give you based on my experience on the site so far:
➸ SpaceHey is meant to replicate classic MySpace, which is a Blogging site. Tumblr is also a blog site, but I wouldn't say that SpaceHey/MySpace is meant to be like Tumblr (at least from my perspective as someone who is on both platforms). Blogging is ideally meant for more long-form content, unlike platforms like Twitter where people share shorter messages. I think lots of people on SpaceHey use it to blog and meet other people. I browse, for the most part, but I'd like to actually blog and participate on the site more.
➸ I find new people by browsing the profiles on the "browse" tab and if I find someone who looks cool I'll send them a friend request. I personally don't send out IMs, but I know some people do like to chat directly with the folks they meet here.
➸ I'd suggest looking through the Groups people have made to see if there are others who share your interests, or even searching for specific keywords about those interests in Blogs, Forums, and Groups
➸ Doing the CSS/HTML for your profile is... finicky. It isn't hard, per se, but it's time consuming and might take a little bit of research and tutorial-viewing. Other users have shared lots of cool things in the Layouts section of the site though that you can use as a starting point if you're interested!!
➸ I don't know if this site is great for promoting your art, but there is a Blog category for art and photography so I'd say you should still share your work if you want to! But maybe if you have another platform you use to share your art you could put it in your Social Links on your profile?
