i live near the beach and one thing i get weirded out by are obvious out of towners. people that bring a million things to the beach, people with schedules, usually they wear rash guards for some reason, they buy the ripoff 5 dollar ice creams from the people in the carts, ad they leave trash everywhere. they're white as snow in the middle of july and always pay for parking (stupid???) they NEVER talk to anyone but their family and themselves and they ignore the homeless even when they're just saying hi. they keep to themselves too much and crowd the beach in large groups. they cant surf, they cant skate, they cant roller blade or do anything but block the strand when their entire family has to plan their next course of action. oh yeah! they think the strand is just a sidewalk (even though there are traffic signs and even a center line directing traffic) and they just walk in the middle of the fucking road where bikes, skate boarders, roller skaters and whatever else have to slam on their breaks to not hit you. there are literally signs telling you to walk on the right side of the road and keep to the edge. they also dont know how the fuck to get in the ocean, they dont go far, and they cant swim well, they make their kids wear floaties and life vests like theyre fishing. its kinda funny to watch them, their bodies sorta freeze up and clench and they inch into the water. please if youre an out of towner, show some skin, dont bring everything, be respectful of people in the water, dont be scared to talk to people and make friends, let your kid explore and play without drowning in floaties that will only end up hurting them in the long run by making them scared of the water, dont be weirded out by us when we bike in our underpants or smoke a bit or play football or vollyball (and dont be scared to join in! we dont bite unless you litter.) at the beach, we exist as a community. no person is an island and just have fun in the sun dude. no worries.
