Gerard Way saw the 9/11 happening infront of him which inspired him to make a whole band.
So mcr started in like 2001 and they released their first album, I bought you my bullets you bought me your love (people just call it bullets album) in the year 2002
The first song they wrote was Skylines and Turnstiles talking about the tragic 9/11.
In that year there were 5 members
Gerard Way- Lead singer (Also a comic book writer, he wrote The Umbrella Academy and The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys)
Mikey Way- Bassist (him and Gerard are brothers btw- there's just a 2 year difference)
Ray Toro- Lead Guitar
Matt Pelissier- Drummer
Frank iero- Rhythm guitar
[FUN FACT: Frank iero was mcr's first fan!! He wasn't originally in the band he joined after they started making music...he sorta impressed them so he joined]
The first album was mostly about Vampires and dead love.

Three cheers for sweet revenge (people just call is three cheers or revenge)
This was released 2004, Matt got kicked out. People say 'he hates playing with a metronome live which could lead to some sloppy playing' so yeah. Bob Bryar become the drummer instead.
This era was about revenge!! And the two lovers you can see on the album are called ''The Demolition Lovers'' like the song in the bullets album.
[If you want song recs listen to I'm Not Okay, Helena or The Ghost of You, those are the ones that people usually like!!]

This is a concept album called The Black Parade, released 2006
From the outside you may think its just about de@th and bl00d only but it's actually about a message being carried on...and also about de@th...

This album is also a concept album
Its called Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys- based on Gerard's comic book
The members acted like different characters
Party Poison= Gerard Way
Fun Ghoul= Frank Iero
Kobra Kid= Mikey Way
Jet Star= Ray Toro
And thats the last album unfortunely :(
They broke up March 22 2013.
But before that they released some singles, AMBULANCE was written for their fans (oh btw mcr fans are called Killjoys or Mcmry)
