Okay, I just don't get why people constantly shop from sites like Temu and Shein, not knowing how problematic they are???
Here's an explanation to what I mean:
Temu is a website with the popular slogan "Shop like a billionaire" that is popularly advertised for having great offers and selling many things such as clothes, accessories, appliances and etc. for really cheap, but that's just oddly suspicious on it's own.
According information made by investigations, Temu is owned by the parent company PPD Holdings, who owns a similar platform named Pinduoduo. Pinduoduo was proven to steal ridiculous amounts of data from its users and also contain malware, and because of that was removed from the play store in 2023.
Besides that, Temu as well as Shein are very likely using illegal labour to produce the products we buy for very cheap, which also in many cases includes child labour. These workers are working in conditions with numerous health risks and are paid pennies a day for the labour they do. In my opinion, it is very inhumane to support such things being done just to get some clothes for cheap.
It's not just Temu and Shein, it's many companies as well, mainly similar "fast fashion" stores and platforms. That's why I mainly shop from stores whete the products aren't made via illegal labour, or I simply thrift clothes, which is also a good choice, too!
I'm not forcing you to not buy from these companies, I'm just simply stating the truth and my opinion. However, think about it the next time you place an order in Temu or Shein, and how someone else pays the price for your cheap T - shirt.

Pretty sure the average shien shopper is upper middle class or richer, they just shop there so they can throw the clothes away once they're worn and a new trend has started. Rich people just seem to be less empathetic in my opinion. Someone who works a minimum wage job is gonna be more likely to sympathise with who makes their clothes
