"Hey cuties! It's the Internet angel Kangel!Β
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I love the internet because all you lovely people are willing to listen to me."
"My biggest fear is abandonment I can't imagine living a life not being needed by anyone."
This is how the first stream of this game starts, letting us know that Kangel is a rather.. "special" person
Hello everyone, my name's Astro and as you can see on my profile I did a post about why you should play "Cry of fear", this time I'm doing one of these posts for a really popular game, called "Needy Streamer Overload".
As the title says, this will have MAJOR spoilers about the story and the ending of this game, and don't worry, I made sure to actually PLAY it, instead of watching it.Β
I actually got all trophies, endings and.. yeah, lol. All special actions and stuff. So, let's start this.
What is this game about?
On this game, you control "P-Chan" a Producer who supports Ame on her journey to become the best streamer of all times.
Similar to a visual novel and a Tamagotchi, you gotta take care of Ame as she uses her Persona "Kangel" to take over the internet, but you only have 30 days to make it happen, so make your days count!
... It sounds really cute, but.. the game is more than that.
The more you play, the more you watch the streams and the longer you get endings you start to see Ame has a conflict inside of her, She WANTS to have this dream, and she WANTS to love you.
but in the majority of endings, that's not possible. There isn't really a good balance when it comes to endings, she either ends up leaving you or killing herself. Also, the ones where you end up together, it ends really bad, or depressing.
for example:
(Un)happy End WorldΒ
On this ending, Kangel thanks her subscribers and streams his luxuries, but ends up growing bored of it, making another account where she vents. She says she's getting bored of P-Chan, so when you send a Friend request she ends up blocking you.
Labor is evil
On this ending, You had to get less than 500k subscribers, but have 60-70 Affection, Ame gives up on streaming and she keeps living a normal life with P-Chan, she ends up ghosting you, but you can conclude that she kills herself, but because of the level of affection that she had for you, she preferred that you still think that she's still around, instead of dead.
There ARE some ""Happy endings"" such as:
"Do you love me?"
Oh boy, this ending is a real mess. On this ending, you get more than 1M Subscribers, do the Million special and have mental darkness above 80 and affection above 80, on this ending.. Kangel decides to do an stream outside with.. P-Chan! taking lots of photos.
After some time, you get up on a ferris wheel, where Kangel asks their subscribers to not forget her.
We can assume that she will stop streaming, to start spending more time with you, but as Kangel, not.. Ame.
The huge mental Darkness would imply that, having her continuing with this persona to cope with reality, she throws away her real self.
...
But something's wrong..
You see, it always ends wrong in some other way.
You can get cucked, she can leave you for someone else, she can just leave because you "ghost her", she can stop streaming because of you spending too much time for her, becoming too attached to you.. or she can simply kill herself because of things not working out, being more gruesome or just being just.. wrong and sad.
And as I was getting the achievements I started to see Ame, she was a bullied girl, neglected by her parents, having to cope with her cruel reality.
She says in one of the streams;
"And everyone made fun of me and bullied me a lot"
Answering: "Do you have friends?"
K: "I don't need online friends. I mean, Why would I when I can just log in and see you guys?"
When talking about Imaginary friends on a stream:
"I had one as a kid coz I didn't have any actual friends"
"We used to stay together every day and watch anime and play videogames"
"We had lots of fun, we were best friends"
"I knew it was a fanciful illusion but I wished it could have continued forever"
After this, she says that after she started to get on the internet, her only friend just.. disappeared.
Before, I said something about Kangel being neglected. We can know this because of a certain event, where Ame ask us to visit her parents.
Β
...
So, with so many endings.. what's the actual true ending?
After completing all 26 outcomes of the game, you'll get another save, a rather different one.
Once you press it, there's no turning back, you get introduced into what seems to be another playthrough, but in this one, Ame seems to be doing everything by herself, giving you no other option but just watch.
You see her doing things to reduce her stress, taking pills, making videos, and she ends up getting 1M all by herself, thanking P-Chan for all the efforts they put on this. But saying that she will try to pursue this future of hers by her own hands, and that she doesn't need you anymore. Leaving the small screen and leaving you on the desktop.
...Β
After some time, you can access a notepad which was hidden on the desktop, previously when you tried to open it, Ame always interrupted you, making you not being able to enter but now.. You were alone, and you open it.
The document says this:
Notes on the current P-chan:
Profile: My favorite person in the world and also my producer. Tells me what to do so we can turn KAngel into the strongest internet angel. Also supports me emotionally and mentally. I wuv my P-chan!
Thoughts: The current P-Chan isn't bad, but I kind of can't deal with people only being nice to me, so. I made things work by myself but it's still not ideal. I'll just make a better P-chan next time. One that's so dreamy that I'll never wake. I think I'll start off with the goal of making marriage material next.
I can't wait to live a new life happily married~!
And so, you're able to close the game, leaving it on a bittersweet ending, but being the best for both of.. Ame and.. Kangel.
If you haven't understood it yet, let me break it down for you real quick.
Β
P-Chan is not real.
That's why when Ame takes drugs, you get your vision blurry, that's why you have a "Camera" tab on your desktop even though you see Ame is in there, that's why everytime something happens to her, you experience it.
P-Chan IS Ame.
P-Chan is part of her delusions, P-Chan was made as a coping mechanism for Ame, after she got on internet, The chats? She probably created another account, texting herself, saying to herself what SHE wanted to hear, that's why even the worse dialogue options gives you affection points, because is what AME feels it's true.
In the end, she was always alone, there was no boyfriend, no.. friends, no producers.
She was demostrating to herself that she could do it.
Some events are easily explainable, The whole going with her parents out she could have just gone alone, when she had *** with "P-chan" she could have just been doing it herself.
..So, if P-Chan's not real, what about those endings?
I've read somewhere a theory, saying that all those endings are just fake scenarios of Ame on her head, because of her anxiety/depression or just maybe taking LOTS of drugs, helped create those scenarios.Β
The notepad DOES says that Ame created "P-Chan" as a way of helping her.
CONCLUSION
In the end, Ame was just a poor girl who had to try her best, having a tough childhood and being bullied, having to graduate middle-school but then dropping high school, she became a Shut-in.
She was isolated from the world, she was unhappy and she was alone.
In the end, she wanted attention, she wanted to feel loved, as she never was on her childhood.
Ame was someone I didn't expect to relate to, not because of "SILLY DRUGS GIRLS" or "IM SOOO UNSTABLE" but because of the fact that I was bullied too, I didn't have friends either, I wanted to be a Youtuber too. And I never got the help that I needed.
In the end, I' feel happy for her, because in this ending, she really got to be happy for her own, finally doing what she wanted without having to worry that much.
She found out that It was actually something not so hard to accomplish.
You can accomplish your dreams, you can make it, no matter who you are.
If you're struggling with mental health, remember you can always accomplish what you want to do.
Because there's no shame on failing, but neither trying.
And for that, you should play Needy Streamer Overload.
Thanks for reading.
BLESS
