professor x and magneto - the underlying homoerotic feelings

in this blog i will sum up the history of charles xavier and erik lehnsherr throughout the important events of their relationship, using both the comics and movies to do so, to further explicit the gay nature of their connection

The first encounter

"i thought i was alone"

in uncanny x-men #161 both charles and erik were working at a hospital treating holocaust survivors, the later being one himself, where they developed a strong frienship, heavily based on discussing what would be their approach in a hypothetical situation where mutants existed

no need to be said their views couldn't be more different for people that were on the same side. through endless theories and debates with one another a certain angst atmosphere rose as neither would disclose for each other that they were, not hypothetically, mutant

xavier noticed he couldn't quite read the man's mind, something that had never happened before, and when nazis kidnapped a pacient the unawareness of their mutant habilities came to an end as they united forces for the rescue

in a world where no one dared to even acknowledge the existence of mutants and where erik suffered so much by being different, finding someone with a mutation for the first time tightened their bond and ever since it never loosened, not even a tiny bit

in x-men first class tho their first time meeting each other is rushed and by no means as intresting as in uncanny x-men, it does a good job showing what their relationship dynamic will be like from now on

erik had went alone to the middle of the dark ocean in a foolish atempt to seek revenge on the man that killed his mother, shaw, later finding himself almost drowning as he was too concentrated trying to stop the submarine which shaw was escaping by, when xavier - a total stranger - jumped in the water without a second thought to save the desperate man

to be continued...
