Pt 2

Cyrus's mother was reduced to tears, sobbing until the doctors carefully extracted the baby from her arms. She didn't want this demonic child in her life, thinking that he'd bring bad luck at every turn. But, at the same time, the church wouldn't approve if she dropped him off at an orphanage, or simply just left him at the hospital and fled. She didn't *understand*. What had she done to deserve this? She was a woman of God and went to church every Sunday, and she gave sugar to her neighbors when they needed some extra, and she gave money to homeless people on the street. Wasn't that enough?
