Honestly due to tiktok and many other social media platforms they’ve watered down punk and goth to just be “you just have to listen to the music” and i get that that is a part of it but it’s not the entire point of being punk. And i get wanting to dress the part because of how accessible fast fashion is now but that goes in part to like subcultures being watered down a bunch.
Have subcultures been watered down?

NO BUT SRSLY like it actually gets me so irritated seeing people on goth TikTok going “you don’t need to dress goth to be goth it’s ONLY about the music^^” like yea the music is a big part but let’s not forget the ideologies! You can’t be goth without goth values but UGHH most people don’t seem to get that:[[
